Social doctrine of Catholic Church and its application to Czech Socio-Economic Model
Author : Josef Bic
Abstract :This paper examines the influence of Christianity, particularly the Catholic Church's moral and ethical framework, on the socio-economic model of Czechia. Drawing from theological sources and the nation's historical and contemporary context, the study contrasts Christian values with current mainstream economics. As Czechia successfully transitioned from a centrally planned socialist system, the role of the Catholic Church emerges as a potential alternative in shaping economic and social behaviors. Despite a predominantly atheistic environment, the Church's principles could address the challenges of the Czech Republic's socio-economic model. This exploration offers a fresh perspective on capitalist market economies in Central and Eastern European countries.
