The Use of AI in Higher Education in UAE: Innovating ideas and Ethical Dilemmas

Abstract : Artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly emerges as a transformative force in the field of education and mental health, offering innovative tools for early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and access to care. From AI-powered chatbots to machine learning algorithms, these technologies have the potential to enhance mental health services and bridge gaps in the healthcare system. However, the integration of AI into education & mental health care presents significant challenges, including concerns over privacy, the accuracy of diagnostic tools, potential biases in algorithms, and the ethical implications of machine-assisted therapy. The study analyzed data from 250 Students in UAEU from the Education and Psychology Departments exploring the effective and Ethical use of AI in Learning and Assessment. The survey consists of three categories: the ethical use of AI, its impact on learning, and challenges and recommendations. Findings revealed that ethical AI practices, such as the responsible use of adaptive learning systems and AI-driven feedback mechanisms, significantly enhance students' academic outcomes while addressing issues like plagiarism and over-reliance on AI. The presentation will focus on the transformative role of AI in reshaping educational practices and mental health support to University Students and Educational systems in UAE. and how these advancements present both opportunities and challenges for University Students, health professionals, and policymakers.
