Method: Fourty eight eyes of 24 patients ,18 female and 6 male, age between 26 to 30 years with brown eyes were included in this study. The indication was cosmetic, seeking a lighter color of eyes to look more presentable. Detailed eye examination was performed with special emphasis on IOP, Gonioscopy and Iris details. Informed written consent was taken.2% Pilocarpine and IOP lowering Eye drop was instilled 45 minutes before the procedure.532nm frequency doubled YAG Laser was delivered to the Iris after adjusting the fine focussing with Laser ABF plate, through a specially designed PCI Lens-the prototype was prepared by Volk Inc, USA based on the optical physics design provided by me. Post laser patients were advised topical steroid and IOP lowering eye drops for two weeks to deal with post laser iritis and a possible rise in IOP and a follow up visit was advised. Results: All patients developed a favorable iris depigmentation at 10 weeks. Dark brown Iris color became light brown to grey, while light brown Iris color changed to greenish grey. There was no evidence of any post laser complication till last follow up at six months. Conclusion: Laser Iridoplasty appears to be a safe and effective treatment option for causing Iris depigmentation with proper technique and technology.
