Abstract :The telegraph equation describes the voltage and current on an electrical transmission line with distance and time. οΏ½ οΏ½2π’ ππ₯2 with the initial conditions: =πΌπ2π’ ππ‘2 +π½ππ’ ππ‘ +πΆπ’ οΏ½ οΏ½(π₯,0) = π1(π₯) , π’π‘(π₯,0) = π2(π₯) and the boundary conditions οΏ½ οΏ½(0,π‘) = π1(π‘) , π’π₯(0,π‘) = π2(π‘) where πͺ, π« and π° are positive constants and π1(π₯),π2(π₯),π1(π‘),and π2(π‘) are continuous functions. In this paper, we introduce a numerical solution for the one-dimensional telegraph equation based on the finite difference scheme. The numerical results show the applicability, efficiency, and accuracy of the method compared with other methods.
