Application of Acupuncture and Stem Cell Products via Pharmacopuncture Method

Abstract : I believe that combining acupuncture, a practice dating back at least two thousand years, with pharmacopuncture applied through acupuncture points will yield significant clinical results. Acupuncture is known to be clinically effective in treating pain syndromes such as osteoarthritis, lumbar herniation, and fibromyalgia; neurological conditions such as facial paralysis; and psychological states such as anxiety and depression, according to literature. In cases where sufficient clinical results can not be obtained in the aforementioned conditions, I believe that better clinical outcomes can be achieved by administering stem cells and stem cell products both intravenously and through pharmacopuncture via acupuncture points. Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to release neurotransmitters such as endorphins, enkephalins, and serotonin, essentially utilizing the body's internal pharmacy. Autologous stem cells obtained from the individual are known to have immunomodulatory, tissue regeneration, analgesic, and anti aging effects. Given the aforementioned characteristics, I believe that stem cell therapy, when combined with acupuncture treatment, will be more clinically effective in diseases with pain symptoms such as osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, neurological diseases with tissue degeneration such as facial paralysis and Parkinson's disease, and psychological state changes such as anxiety.
