Psychometric Properties of the Transhumanist Orientation Scale in a Turkish Sample

Abstract : Transhumanism is the idea of advocating for the optimization and perfection of humankind through technological advancements. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Transhumanist Orientation Scale in a Turkish sample of 700 participants. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) conducted with 400 participants indicated a one-factor structure explaining 51% of the total variance. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed with 300 participants, which supported the unidimensional model and demonstrated good model fit (χ²/df = 2.47, CFI = 0.99, RMSEA = 0.07). The scale showed good internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha = .75). These findings suggest that the Transhumanist Orientation Scale is a reliable and valid instrument for the Turkish population.
