The extracted data were analyzed in a thematic way, respecting ethical aspects and copyright. A total of 1,114 studies were identified and 6 included after applying eligibility criteria. The category constructed was Challenges for health care in situations of endometriosis, whose themes were: significant gaps in knowledge, absence of standardized protocols, scarcity of structural resources and lack of continued training, the need for multiprofessional action, effective communication between health professional and patient. It is concluded that the challenges in coping with endometriosis in Primary Health Care promote inconsistent care, inconclusive answers and delay in diagnosis, reinforcing the urgent need for specific guidelines that favor the recognition of symptoms and a more comprehensive approach to the disease.
