Using Infographics as A Formative Assessment Tool

Abstract :This article explores the use of infographics as a formative assessment tool in language classrooms, offering both theoretical insights and practical applications. Infographics, with their combination of visuals and concise textual elements, provide a dynamic medium to assess students' understanding, creativity, and language skills in an engaging way. The paper discusses the pedagogical benefits of incorporating infographics, such as fostering critical thinking, enhancing multimodal literacy, and supporting differentiated instruction. Additionally, it outlines step-by-step guidelines for educators on designing and implementing infographic-based activities tailored to various language learning objectives. By presenting concrete examples and classroom-tested strategies, this article serves as both an inspiration and a practical guide for teachers, empowering them to effectively integrate infographics into their formative assessment repertoire.
