Author : Yüksel Göğebakan, Muhammed Talha Meci̇toğlu

Abstract :Since the existence of human beings, the concept of creativity has also taken its place in life. Artistic creativity is thought to be related to the mood and health of the artist, with an intuitive power as opposed to a divine sense. For this reason, this research has been made on the assumption that the creation affecting the artist's works is due to tetrachromat disease. While planning the study, literature review was made and examinations were made. In this study, it was examined how Van Gogh's social life and his mood in the creation process were reflected in his art, and the assumption that he might have tetrachromat disease was approached. In addition, the characteristics of tetrachromat disease and how it conveyed Van Gogh's paintings were emphasized, and Van Gogh's studies supporting the assumption that the effects of tetrachromat disease (Starry Night, Wheat Field with Crows, A Starry Night on the Rhone, Bedroom in Arles, Flowering Almond in a Glass) were emphasized. branches) were examined using the artifact examination method. He created the impression that the brightness of the colors he used in his paintings, the tonal richness he created, and the shaky brushstrokes he created with dashed lines were not actually caused by a psychological problem, but were hypothetically caused by tetrachromat disease. For this reason, the works of Van Gogh were compared with the works of the painting artist Concetto Antico, who had tetrachromatic disease, and were tried to be explained comprehensively within the scope of the research
