E-Waste Recycling in Egypt and Worth of Precious Metals

Abstract :Recycling is a source of income that can benefit the economy in both way of saving resources and protecting the environment. The e-waste is a new area that increasing over time with association of the increment of population in the recent time. However, Egypt has been ranked in the fifteenth place among the Midel East countries. The end of life (EOL) method has been implemented to estimate the amount of the e-waste recycling in Egypt in 2023. The total volume of e-waste recycling is 193 thousand tons and the worth of precious metals extracted is 314.6 million of US dollar. Gold is the most significant precious metal that is recycled and worth of 291.69 million of US dollar. The heights extracted metal is Cobalt with volume of 482 tons and worth of 16.52 million US dollar
