E-Waste and the Circular Economy: A Comparative Analysis of South Asian and Western European Countries

Abstract :Rapid growth of utilization of electronic gadgets has intensified the challenges of electronic waste management worldwide. This research aims to examine the significance of e-waste generation and collection on South Asian and Western European countries macroeconomic performance indicator. This study aims to suggest policy makers the difference in policy being followed in different countries and its impact on circular economy. Using secondary data study has highlighted that there is Western Europe countries has a robust recycling regulatory framework and in emerging economies follows informal recycling, limited awareness and inadequate enforcement. Using linear regression, it was found out that there is an urgent need of harmonized regulations, investment in formal recycling systems and stronger integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into e-waste policies.
