Author : Karin Glacov
Abstract :The paper focuses on the development of innovation activity in the Czech Republic in the period 2009–2022 through a descriptive evaluation of selected research and development (R&D) indicators. It uses time series data on R&D personnel and workplaces, R&D expenditures, the number of patents granted, and the share of the quaternary sector in the overall economic structure of regions (NUTS3). The data are processed in the form of graphical visualisations and regional comparisons, enabling the identification of significant interregional differences, temporal fluctuations, and possible causes of these changes. The article provides an overview of national and regional trends and indicates factors that may have influenced innovation activity.
