Generative AI and the Transforming Role of Educators: A Literature Review of Evolving Strategies and Tools.

Author : Alvin Prasad

Abstract :Artificial Intelligence (AI) is progressing very fast in today’s era. Initially, it could learn from data and recognize objects and patterns that are now known as Traditional AI. However, in the current period, AI can learn from data and generate objects that do not exist. This new development, evolving the different ages and sectors of the economy, is known as Generative AI (GenAI). This literature review paper explores the education sector and the shift in teaching methods due to GenAI. As the tools are evolving and becoming easily accessible, the traditional teaching tools and methods are rapidly evolving as well. In this paper, the current teaching methods, tools used in learning and teaching, teacher responsibilities, and AI collaborators are identified and synthesized. Moreover, it also examines the positive and negative effects of GenAI on personalized learning, student creativity, and critical thinking skills. Comprehensive literature on the changes to the teaching methods and their effects will benefit the educators, students, parents, and policymakers. The paper aims to provide insights into new teaching paradigms, future research ideas, and suggestions to include AI in the current and future teaching methods
