Smoke Signals: Prevalence, Awareness & Knowledge Among Karimnagar's Engineering Minds

Abstract :Introduction: • Tobacco use remains a major public health concern, especially among youth. • Engineering students face high academic stress, increasing vulnerability to smoking. • Understanding their smoking behaviors and awareness can help design targeted interventions. Objectives: 1. Assess prevalence, awareness, and knowledge of smoking risks among engineering students (18-23 years) in Karimnagar. 2. Identify factors contributing to smoking initiation. 3. Promote smoking cessation awareness. Methodology: Study Design: Cross-sectional survey. Sampling: 368 engineering students (random sampling). Data Collection: Self-administered structured questionnaire. Ethical Approval: Institutional Ethics Committee. Study Subjects: Inclusion Criteria: 1. Students of engineering colleges of Karimnagar. 2. Study of engineering students who gave consent to participate in study. 3. Students of age group 18 to 23 years. Exclusion Criteria: 1. People other than 18 to 23 years age group . 2. People other than engineering students are excluded . 3. Engineering students not given consent are excluded
