Towards Applying Artificial Intelligence for Transformation of the Education System in Saudi Arabia: Saudi Electronic University Case Study

Abstract :The increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of creative teaching-learning solutions is causing a rapid transformation in the Saudi Arabian educational system. Universities and other institutions are beginning to shift from traditional teaching methods and towards smart education in an effort to enhance both teachers’ and students’ learning experiences across a range of courses in different disciplines. The concepts that will be covered in this study include artificial intelligence, its characteristics, the evolution of the educational system in light of artificial intelligence, the impact of artificial intelligence on the Saudi Arabian educational system, and the current state of the education system in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030. In addition, the current study presents a case study on an online educational platform used at the Saudi Electronic University in Saudi Arabia, specifically the Blackboard Learning Management System. This case study has been conducted in order to analysis the educational platform in order to provide some suggestions to enhance this platform by applying AI.
