Thyroid Disorders In Pregnant And non-Pregnant Women

Abstract :The physiological changes in thyroid gland during pregnancy have been suggested as one of the pathophysiologic causes endocrine disorder . This study group comprised of 31 pregnant and 20 unpregnant women scheduled follows up the alterations of thyroid hormones. The study was conducted at the general Bengwaed hospital from during 2023 . Due to specific conditions related to the pregnancy period, There are various alteration accompanied with this stage.. Thyroid function was studied by determination of thyroid hormones using Ichroma the system in 51 women . serum TT4 and TT3 levels were significantly higher than that in unpregnant women (106.01 ± 28.9 mIU/L) and (2.139 ± .844) respectively . while TSH levels were significantly decreases in pregnant women (3.1232 ± 4.3) .µIU/mL; P< 0.05].
