Assessing Biodiversity for National Security
Author : Victoria Moltong Yilwa Dan
Abstract :This paper highlights the significance of biodiversity in national security and also seeks to assess strategies for ecological, economic and social stability. It examines the interplay between national security concerns and biodiversity, stressing the need for integrated conservation approaches. These concerns include food security, resource availability and public health. Thorough biodiversity assessments can be integrated into national planning, which will enable countries better understand their vulnerabilities, build resilience, promote sustainable development, and safeguard their national security. The paper, therefore, emphasizes the importance of robust biodiversity assessments and monitoring systems to track changes, identify risks, and inform effective policy responses.
