Dental Rehabilitation of pediatric patient diagnosed with Geroderma Osteodysplastica Or (Walt Disney Dwarfism)

Abstract :11 years old boyl, known case of autosomal recessive Geroderma Osteodysplasticum, presented to my dental clinic at king Fahd armed forces hospital, confirmed by genetic testing. Associated with the following features: • Progeroid features, premature aging appearance, lax and wrinkled skin (especially on the dorsum of the hands, feet and abdomen). • Hyperextensible joints, bowing legs, genu valgum, bilateral DDH. • Severe short stature. • Severe osteoporosis/osteopenia, vertebral abnormalities and spontaneous fractures. • Partial hair alopecia. Upon Dental Examination patient presented with the following orofacial features: • Multiple occlusal, proximal & facial carious lesions. • Enamel hypoplasia (Teeth #36,46). • Localised delyed eruption (Tooth #46). • Ectopic eruption (Teeth #12,22,32). • Reverse overjet and classIII malocclusion. • Transposition of Teeth #23,33. Dental rehabilitation was done under local anesthesia.
