Teaching a second language based on the first language

Abstract :Developing competencies to perform adequately in a second language has always been a challenge for most teachers in all settings. If we take advantage of the ability that students possess to communicate in their first language, teaching a second language could become much easier for the teacher and friendly for the student. Thus, the grammar of the second language might not be so important; as it is not for the first language and we could focus on the message and the effectiveness of communication, rather than on the mechanization of linguistic structures or memorization of isolated words, generally without context
