Author : Esimone, Chinyere Celestina, Alexander Walsh Erhiegheke
Abstract :Attitudinal patterns are daily displayed by all humans. Most of which are seen and observed, while some undisplay. However, children stand out in such patterns and are most times very detrimental. Music has shown much power in influencing behavioral patterns in humans especially in children, simply because they are children. This study examines how music shapes behavioral patterns in child development, with a clear focus on behavioral patterns in children. It interrogated displayed and undisplay behavioral patterns in children and why there is such. It considered the role music-based activities play in the life of a child. Data was gathered through oral interviews and document analysis, and the results show that children who regularly participate in music-based activities exhibit significant improvements in self-control and social conduct, which is an indication that music can effectively reinforce positive behavioral patterns. It is therefore recommended that early childhood programs incorporate music-based activities to support behavior management and foster emotional development.
